My ISP blocks port 25 and I can't send email. What can I do?

In an attempt to control unsolicited email (spam), some Internet service providers block smtp port 25. If you experience technical problems sending email, then you need to use port 587 when sending via our smtp server. To make this change, please follow the steps below:

Microsoft Outlook Express

  1. From the "Tools" menu, select "Accounts".
  2. Select your email account and click "Properties".
  3. Click the "Servers" tab and input mail.xxxx.com as the Outgoing mail server. (replace xxxx.com with your domain hosting with us)
  4. Click the "Advanced" tab.
  5. Next to "Outgoing mail (SMTP)," change port from 25 to 587.
  6. Click "OK," then click "Close".

Thunderbird

  1. From the "Tools" menu, select "Account settings".
  2. Click "Outgoing server SMTP" then select your outgoing mail server "mail.xxxx.com" and click "Edit" (replace xxxx.com with your domain hosting with us)
  3. Change the port from 25 to 587, click "Ok" then "Ok" again.

Apple Mail

  1. From the "Mail" menu, select "Preference".
  2. Select the email account and click "Server settings" under Outgoing Mail Server SMTP.
  3. Put mail.xxxx.com as the Outgoing mail server. (replace xxxx.com with your domain hosting with us)
  4. Change the server port from 25 to 587.
  5. Click "Ok" and close the Preference window.
